Nice.

It's got pretty much everything falling into place where you want it, and it sounds awesome.

Complex, innovative, and just a bit repetitive.

Though that abrupt stop in the music sounded out of place, it doesn't ruin the song.

But where's the actual intro and ending? Fading out... pfft. :D

Anyways, fifen and McAwesomeBurger for you!

G0RtH responds:

Thanks for the review... I'm glad you like it!

You know I love it.

Awesome.

Do I really need to say any more?

Not really, but I will. Loops perfectly, the sounds meld together extremely well, awesome bass and melody, and overall, McPerfect.

And fifen. :D

PERVOK responds:

:D

We are gonna miss you in the AF... :')

Don't die on us XP

I dunno...

The synths were nice... but just nice. Nothing particularly spectacular. Also, they seemed to be missing something, like if you lost your arms.

That's what they were, synths without arms, and I could feel it, and it hurt me to know that they had more potential than this, it just feels like they were neglected as children.

The main melody sounds a bit like your song "Exaggerate"'s main melody. A good melody. Then you took it, chopped its arms off, and raped it to being too repetitive.

Crowd sounds- Wasn't quite my cup of tea, since I'm not a big fan of putting crowds into songs. It also seemed to fuzz out the armless synth even more, making it sound worse.

The slow part- that synth was possibly where it was nicest. Still not amazing, just nicest.

Another thing that bothers me, where's the percussion? This song sounds like it has a lot of missing parts, once you put the percussion in, it'll sound better for that at least.

Bassline- Disappointing. I know you can do better.

All in all, I gotta say, marginal. :p

Painfully honest is better than "ZOMGTHATWASAWESOME"... right?

3'd.

Khuskan responds:

Your negativity is pretty unusual, considering the other more posotive responces here, but I really have to agree with you on a lot of this.

Pulsar was actually made before exaggurate. It was made strictly for the game at the time, and this was pretty annoying to me so I made exaggurate to fill my newly found trance love. Therefore this, beside outside abfin, was my first true experience with all the trancy features in reason. For example, I only just worked the filter out in this track and so I was playing around to see what I could do with it.

Also this song was rushed out of production. At the time, the (supposed) release date for the mod was a mere week away, so I kept it pretty simple arrangement wise.

As for the percussion, I've always been pretty shitty with drums. Thats what's been holding me back from making more trance or even some of the dnb songs I had in planning.

I can't help but feel though that after you listend to exagg and outside, you were probably half expecting a vocoded lyric thing in there. I would have loved to put one in but it wouldnt have suited the context of the track at all.

So you have this little track to thank for exaggurate, and although admitidly it isnt my best, i learnt a lot from making it.

Eh...

I absolutely hated the synth at the beginning... it just grated on me. I don't know why. But adding the marimba... A master stroke. It just feels good. Makes the beginning synth sound good with it.
Makes me think of some random online rpg anime happy game.

Don't ask why.

Anyways, ima give this a 4 and a McGreatBurger award. :D

itsameyayo responds:

Sweet!

-Thanks much! McGreatBurger yummy!

-I'll tell the truth, I really wish I could do something about synths, but now, I just don't have the resources. I'm looking into some stuff though : )

-Muchas gracias!

Mmm... Metroid.

Such a great game. I kept my old SNES just to continue playing this game.

May I be the first to say, that was freakin' MCAWESOMEBURGER material.

Now all I gotta do is hope for a Maridia remix. *crosses fingers*

Sure, I could do one of my own...
but then I wouldn't be surprised. :D

FIFEN AND MCAWESOMEBURGER!

WinTang responds:

Yay!! MCAWESOMEBURGER!!
Dude, I thank you, and I've been contemplating more SMetroid reissues, Crateria was top of the list, but I might do Maridia (which has 2 tunes, but I'm assuming you mean that melancholic one) first now, to kiss your ass :)

I do believe you've gone crazy.

And why didn't you do it earlier?

THIS IS FREAKIN' AWESOME.

Sorry. Wrong. Freakin McPerfect. Catchy tune, and freaking awesome singing. Great lyrics, too.

"Fuck, I'm dead."

I could imagine this being in some sort of musical :D

Khuskan responds:

I've heard from several unreliable sources that a certain well known flash animator has taken perticular interest in this track...

No love for teh -API-...

Peoples are so mean to you...

And you make music that is the shit...

Oh, and by the way-

Note clarity.

McAwesome too :D

apimusic responds:

I'll stab your dad.

but thanks anyway

FUCKING CLARITYTY RIRJIGAHGHT

Nice.

Soothing, calming, with darker undertones (was that a heartbeat-type thing?)... beautiful; and McPerfect.

Fifened. :D

MilkMan-Dan responds:

Yes... a heartbeat... that it was. It is to signify the beggining of new life, and the song wraps it's meaning around reliving all those moments you took for granted. A McPerfect always makes my day Solus... that's two now I think ;). Thanks mate. :)

Minimalist?

Nay, tis not minimalist...

More like McAwesome...

That was a GREAT idea to make it purely sine waves. I personally would HATE to make something like that (you know how full of sound my songs are...) but you pulled it of masterfully.

I'ma five this and give you a McAwesomeBurger!

By the way, when are you gonna get that random chick to do the vocals for Exaggerate? Because I can't wait to hear it.

Khuskan responds:

I need to get a proper recording off her yet. I've got a few drafts, but not really good enough to submit. Anyway, we're doing some songs that we're writing together as well, more poppy-rock stuff, so i'll have lots of stuff up soon hopefully.

Hehehehe...

Definitely made me chuckle. I remember that show.

Good times, good times.

Fifened because it deserves a higher score. :D

mhb responds:

thanx solus. i'm glad you knew what it was about and the fact that it made you laugh a bit. and i'm glad for the fiven!!!!!
